Club on temporary Hiatus
As some of you know we are having a hard time finding a larger venue to hold meetings which is posing a huge problem. To complicate matters, Mauricio and I now are both working on Saturdays.
...
..and then, when it rains it pours...
We have been laboring feverishly to resolve the meeting place issue but as it stands at the moment neither one of us is even available to conduct meetings with our work schedules as they currently stand. We think we may have a solution worked out (with a few changes) but we still need to coordinate the details.
I sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may be causing anyone. We are working hard to get Miso back up and running against these obstacles.
Thank you for your continued support and don't worry. We will find an answer to this dilemma somehow.

Schedule Adjustment
Due to scheduling conflicts our next meeting will be held October 3rd and the following weekend October 10th. These two meetings will get us back on track with our regular bi-weekly schedule. If you have any question please feel free to contact us on the forums or email. Thanks!

Saturday, September 19 - Miso WILL MEET! (AND GIVE AWAY THREE RAFFLE PRIZES!)

Miso Cancellation!
Due to circumstances beyond our control, Miso will not be held this weekend. We apologize for the inconvenience and the lack of fair warning, but life sometimes treats these sorts of encounters like traffic accidents- you have warning about four seconds before the horns start going and then things go bang. XD
Venue permitting, the meeting will be moved back a week, and we will meet the next 2 weekends in a row.

New items, Deathnote Scroll Raffle, Hetalia Axis Powers & more Trinity Blood
Sorry for the late update guys but yes! we are meeting this evening and the raffle will be for this fine looking Deathnote scroll generously donated by David and Holly Evans. Thanks guys! ^_^
Also we will have new items at the snack table (a throw back to the old Miso concessions!) and we will be picking up where we left off on Trinity Blood. We are hoping to manage time efficiently enough to perhaps fit in three episodes since last week TB was cut short due to long breaks.
Tonight the show will start off with Hetalia Axis Powers right after the AMV block. This is a hilarious show and the eps are only 5 minutes a piece and make a nice intro to the rest of the lineup! Thanks to Ashley-chan for suggesting this one.
We'd like to remind everyone to please wait downstairs in the cafe until the officers have all the equipment set up. At 4pm we will open the room and invite everyone in for complimentary coffee and to start the show! Additionally, as mentioned on the forums, please limit laptop use to downstairs in the cafe and not upstairs in the room while the meetings are in session as it is disruptive during the shows. Also, if you think you may not make it at the start of the show to grab a seat, please bring a cushion or throw pillow since the remaining seating will be up front down by the screen.

Picnic Postponed
Due to inclement weather and illness in the family, the anime picnic in the park scheduled for this Sunday has to be postponed. We will DEFINITELY still be hosting it at a later time and will post the date here as soon as we have it re-scheduled.

Konnichiwa minna san! This Saturday (August 15th) at Miso we are raffling off Wolf's Rain DVD volume 1!
Also, we are beginning a new series in the fifth slot, Trinity Blood!
Armageddon has come.... and gone. The world is in shambles. Humanity is no longer alone. A new race, calling themselves the Methusalehs has arrived... but the more common name, based on human folklore, is... Vampires. Methusalehs and Terrans are at war with each other and an international agency known as the Chancery (the Vatican) tries to intercede to protect the humans by using allies and powerful members of the Catholic Church. Among the elite of the church's enforces is an agency known as AX. Enter Abel Nightroad, a soft spoken and well intentioned agent of the church and an AX agent. Although he appears at first to be utterly inept and silly... what can the darkness hiding barely out of sight, and his troubling past, mean for the traveling priest?
We will also have more details on the upcoming picnic in the park as well as about AWA and will be playing name that anime for some more anime goodies!
Don't forget we start at 4pm these days and run til 10 pm.

Date Change for Anime Picnic in the Park!
Due to a scheduling conflict at the Pavilion we are having to move the picnic down a day to Sunday, August 23rd. Only one day difference, (the day after we had originally planned). Not a major change but we sure wanted to let everyone know so you guys can mark your calendars and plan to be there with us for Mobile's first outdoor anime picnic!

Miso Anime Club is holding an outdoor anime show and picnic! This is an event held outside of regular show schedules so we will not be showing the regular lineup. (Anime schedule TBA).
This is not a limited full member event and all are free to attend!
Event: Miso Anime Picnic in the Park
Place: Performing Arts Pavilion in Mobile Municipal (Langan) Park
Date: Saturday August 22nd, 2009
Time: 6 PM - 12 AM
For those of you unfamiliar with the Performing Arts Pavilion, it is a large covered structure at the Langan Municipal Park. This will be Mobile's first open air outdoor anime screening/picnic of it's kind! We will be using a much larger screen than ever before at this event!
The sun doesn't set til around 8:00 so we will start with a Cosplay Contest and some games at 6PM and also give everyone a chance to get something to eat and drink and mingle. When the sun goes down, the anime goes up on the bigscreen!
We will have our cameras and will be snapping pictures to post in our Cosplay thread on our site!
Since Pocky doesn't fare well in the heat we will probably not be selling any at the concession table, but Moe will be grilling up some burgers and dogs in it's place and we will have sodas for sale as well. All proceeds go to help pay for our room at Carpe for our regular meetings.
THIS EVENT IS BYOP
(bring your own pillow) :)
There will not be any folding chairs or seating at this event so you will need to bring a pillow or beanbag or something soft and squishy to sit on. You are of course welcome to sit directly on the paved cement pavilion floor but we would advise you to bring something comfy to sit on for obvious reasons. (As a reminder you might want to bring some insect repellent too!)
If ANYONE wants to help us out and bring a box or oscillating fan that we could plug in that would be an ENORMOUS help!! This is summer in Mobile, so it will be warm. If you have a fan you could loan to help keep us all cool that night we would greatly appreciate it. Please email misoanimeclub@comcast.net or contact Suzaku No Miko on the forum.

Saturday August 1st Meeting - new lineup and new raffle!
The raffle prize this week is the Soundtrack from Azumanga Daioh! 38 tracks including the TV size versions of the opening vocal song, "Soramimi no Cake" and the closing theme, "Raspberry Heaven" by the group Oranges & Lemons consisting of Yoko Ueno and Masumi Ito (Fushigi Yugi Eikoden, Haibane Renmei, .hack//Legend of the Twilight, Koi Kaze, Scrapped Princess).
Spend $2.50 at the snack table and get in on a chance to win! This Saturday August 1st join us for the beginning of the Viewer's Choice Poll winner in the fourth slot, Rurouni Kenshin!
